How about some more lines from my man Liam. He has been killing it over the past couple of weeks. Great to see his character start to get more of a role in this show. And Carl was also fantastic in this episode in dealing with Liam as well in trying to get his new parents to avoid adopting them.
On to the meats and potatoes for this episode and I was hoping for a little more with the way it was all set up. I thought it was a great opportunity to add some more drama with all of the kids being sent into different homes and being split up even if a few of them were still paired together. Liam and Ian were able to get out of any kind of trouble in their group home, but I thought it would have been a perfect opportunity to make them face some real adversity together. I think they missed the ball on it for this week, but the kids are still not out of the system yet and we may see those issues come into play in next weeks episode.
After last weeks episode I was not sure how to feel about everything going on with Kevin And Veronica, but I think this episode brought it to another level. Not only was it a hilariously awkward moment, but I could see it possibly leading to some drama in the future. The way that it played out and how prefect of a scene it was really made it that much better. And it is always great when there is a storyline outside of the Gallaghers that adds something to the show. This is unlike everything involving Jodi who I am hoping will disappear with Karen at some point.
Obviously the main scene in this episode came at the end when Fiona was able to hear the voice of the person who reported them to child protective services. It appeared as if she definitely knew it was Frank who made the anonymous call and now we may see everything spiral out of control for the Gallaghers. It will be really interesting to see how she handles this with the kids and tells them about it. We all know she is going to snap on Frank, but will she try to hide this from the kids for a little while or break the news immediately to them? This will definitely be something to watch out for in next weeks episode.
It looks like they will have a lot going on for the Gallaghers in the coming episodes and we still cannot forget about everything with Jimmy either. At some point Estefania’s father is going to have a big impact on this show and may cause some real problem for the whole Gallagher family. I am waiting to see how that plays out and hope they take advantage of the opportunity they have to make some fantastic scenes from that.
