The Amazing Race: Season 22, Episode 2

The Amazing RaceWith the need to over-analyze a show together since The Challenge is on hiatus, Greg Kaplan and Mike Aurigemma have come together and decided to give The Amazing Race: Season 22 a chance. Each week, the two will break down what has happened, where the show is going, the team that has been eliminated and, of course, the frontrunners.

Well Greg is taking the week off for some reason so unfortunately you will be stuck with just my ramblings on this past weeks episode.

First thing we have to start off with is the twins being eliminated, which was definitely not a surprise by any means.  What was surprising to me was the fact that they did not quit in the middle of the activity.  We knew that they were afraid of water and even after struggling with it at first they still stuck with it and were able to complete it all.  We also know that three teams will be quitting this year if the reports are accurate and I definitely had this team pegged as one of them so that changes things for sure.

Now speaking of teams quitting, it looks like that may be the only option for the father and son combination.  David seems to have thought he ruptured his Achilles as he was running to the finishing line.  This would be a knockout blow to their chances at competing in the rest of the season and would eliminate a pretty competitive team.  They have been good at basically every challenge they have faced so far and this will open up an opportunity for another team to sneak into the top.

Jessica and John are definitely still at the top with the Battaglia brothers right alongside of them, but they do not have the advantage of the express pass.  With David and Connor possibly having to call it quits this is going to make it really interesting to see who gets the second express pass.  It was supposed to go to them, but now they will have to make a decision and may have to make some enemies along the way.  I am sure hoping they decide to give it to Chuck and Wynona to help my team out.

Now looking at next week I think Connor and David will have to go home due to health issues and because of that no one else will be eliminated.  But if you want to watch out for a storyline, Chuck is always the man and I can guarantee that no one will become friends with Max and Katie throughout this season.  I mean how can someone actually like those two?
